In a recent customer service, our company's technical team demonstrated excellent professional capabilities and successfully diagnosed and solved a frequency converter overvoltage fault problem, ensuring the stable operation of the customer's equipment.

Background of the event:
The customer's on-site staff encountered Err06 (deceleration overvoltage) fault while operating the 650L series frequency converter. During the shutdown process, the frequency converter will report this fault within 2 seconds after pressing the stop button. After close communication and simple testing between our technical team and the customer's on-site staff, we quickly identified the cause of the fault: excessive inertia of the fan load, which prevented the motor from quickly converting kinetic energy during deceleration and shutdown, resulting in the motor generating power and causing an increase in DC bus voltage, ultimately triggering an overvoltage fault.

Solution:
Our technical team has put forward the following effective suggestions and measures to address this issue:

1. Configure braking unit and braking resistor: When the motor stops running, the braking unit and braking resistor can quickly consume the inertia and mechanical energy of the motor, avoid energy rotation, and effectively prevent overvoltage faults from occurring.

2. Reduce load inertia: It is recommended that customers change the connection method and replace the direct connection between the motor and the load with a gearbox or belt connection to reduce the rotational difference and thus reduce the probability of overvoltage.

3. Adjusting the parameters of the frequency converter: By optimizing the acceleration, deceleration, and current limits of the frequency converter, the occurrence of overvoltage faults can be further reduced.
